British Wagyu for Two: Build the Basket Around the Meal
For two diners, choose the meal before choosing a British Wagyu pack. A shared steak, two individual fillets and two burgers can all feed two people, but they involve different raw portions and cooking checks. These are meal-planning examples, not fixed bundles or claims about what is currently in stock.
Three ways to build the meal
| Meal idea | Illustrative raw beef | Buy separately |
|---|---|---|
| Shared steak with potatoes and greens | One 400g steak, divided into about 200g raw per person | Potatoes, greens and any sauce |
| Two small fillet plates | Two 150g steaks, one per person | Mushrooms and potatoes |
| Two burger meals | Two 170g formed burgers, one per person | Buns, salad and condiments |
The weights are illustrative planning figures. Confirm actual pack count, weight, availability and handling on the chosen listing and the received label. The vegetables and buns are separate shopping items, and no cooked yield or serving-size promise follows from the examples.
Choose one format and check the quantity
A shared steak can be cooked as one piece and divided after resting. Two individual steaks offer separate plates, but may buy a different total weight. Burgers are formed meat and require a different safety check. Check the chosen variant and basket quantity before paying; quantity two of a two-piece pack is four pieces, not two.
For a larger steak meal, two 250g steaks would provide a nominal 500g raw in total. That is not a like-for-like substitute for a single 400g shared steak. Decide how much raw beef you want alongside the rest of the menu, without assuming that any one number suits every appetite.
Prepare for the right cooking task
With an intact steak, inspect its thickness and use a method suited to that piece. With burgers, cook thoroughly through the centre; do not apply pink-centred intact-steak advice to formed meat. The Food Standards Agency's cooking guidance explains the difference. If the pack arrives frozen, allow label-directed fridge thawing time. Delivery day is not automatically cooking day.
Compare the whole basket
Add the actual beef pack price, sides, condiments and delivery available to your postcode. A lower unit price on a larger pack can still increase the total bill and leave food you cannot use safely. Check storage instructions before buying extra for another day. The delivery and storage checklist covers arrival and handling; the whole-cut comparison helps when planning a larger purchase.
