Buying Japanese A5 Ribeye: Choosing the Right Pack

Choose the Japanese A5 ribeye pack by total raw weight and piece count. A 200g selection can be divided into two 100g tasting allocations; a 2 × 200g selection provides 400g across two stated pieces. One 400g selection has the same total weight, but it is a different format. The basket quantity multiplies the whole selected option.

Start with the Japanese A5 Wagyu ribeye, 200g if you want a small purchase. Beleaev's listing describes this ribeye as produced in Kagoshima, Japan, and supplied frozen. A5 is the stated grade; it is not an exact BMS number or a Kobe certification.

Which of the available sizes fits your meal?

Selected variant Total raw weight Example allocation Reason to choose it
Japanese A5 ribeye, 200g 200g 2 × 100g A tasting course for two with other food.
Japanese A5 ribeye, 300g 300g 2 × 150g A planned 300g total without buying 400g.
Japanese A5 ribeye, 400g 400g 4 × 100g A sharing piece you plan to divide.
Japanese A5 ribeye, 2 × 200g 400g 2 × 200g Two stated pieces for individual plates or cooking in batches.
Japanese A5 ribeye, 2 × 300g 600g 4 × 150g A 600g menu plan using two stated pieces.
Japanese A5 ribeye, 2 × 400g 800g 8 × 100g A larger tasting table, with enough pan space or a batch plan.

These allocations are arithmetic examples, not fixed serving advice or measured cooked yields. Choose the amount for appetite and the rest of the menu. Options were verified in the catalogue on 10 October 2026; confirm today's selection and availability before ordering.

One 400g piece or two 200g pieces?

Choose two stated pieces when you want two separate steak portions. Choose the 400g format when you want to portion a sharing piece yourself. Do not infer exact thickness, equal dimensions or individual vacuum sealing from weight alone; confirm the physical format if your meal depends on it.

Equal total weight does not guarantee equal cooking time. A thick piece and two thinner pieces heat differently. Keep the cooking plan tied to the actual steak rather than treating the 400g and 2 × 200g labels as interchangeable.

Why can a page headed 200g also sell 400g?

The heading names the listing's lead format. The variant selector determines what you buy. Beleaev also has a Japanese A5 ribeye listing led by 400g; its other selectable weights must also be checked before adding to the basket. The two page headings are not evidence of different grades.

For example, quantity 1 of the 2 × 200g variant means 400g total. Quantity 2 of that variant means 800g total. Read the variant and quantity together in the basket to avoid ordering twice as much as intended.

Does buying more reduce the unit price?

Not necessarily. Compare the chosen variant's current price divided by its total weight. The Japanese Wagyu price guide gives dated calculations and separates cost per allocation from the full purchase cost. A lower unit price only helps if the quantity fits your menu and safe storage plan.

The listing also offers a 2.5kg option. That is a much larger purchase, not a routine substitute for dinner for two. Confirm dimensions, portioning needs and storage before choosing it.

What should be ready before the parcel arrives?

The ribeye listing specifies storage at −18°C or below, slow refrigerator thawing and no refreezing after thawing. Follow the delivered pack's instructions. A multipack name does not establish whether you can thaw just one separately sealed steak.

Leave room for frozen storage, arrange receipt and allow sufficient refrigerator thawing time for the actual piece. Do not count the delivery window as thawing time. Check postcode eligibility and the delivery date at checkout; a general London service message is not a product-specific same-day promise.

What if you prefer another cut?

Compare ribeye and sirloin before increasing the pack size. The right amount of the wrong cut is still the wrong purchase. For other cuts and sliced formats, use the Japanese A5 Wagyu collection.
