A 60g pack of sliced Wagyu cured beef can become a small canapé tray without cooking the beef. Plan six more generous bites at around 10g each, or twelve smaller bites at around 5g each. These are weight-based serving ideas, not a promise of the number of slices in the pack.
This plan uses Wagyu Grand Cru Cured Beef, Sliced, 60g. The product is salt-cured and matured for ten months according to its listing. It is a chilled charcuterie product, not a raw steak; the listing does not establish Japanese A5 or certified Kobe status.
Choose a tray size that fits the occasion. A single small bite is an introduction to the beef, not a starter-sized serving. If guests will have several canapés each, count the total pieces before deciding how many packs to order.
| Tray plan | Beef per bite | How to serve it |
|---|---|---|
| 6 bites from 60g | About 10g | A more generous topping on a small toast |
| 12 bites from 60g | About 5g | A tasting bite alongside other canapés |
| 24 small bites | About 5g | Two 60g packs, before allowing for handling |
Separate the slices gently while cool. Divide by weight where possible rather than assuming that every slice is identical. If a slice tears, fold the pieces together on the base; there is no need to discard them for cosmetic reasons.
Keep the base small enough to eat comfortably and the topping simple enough to let the cured beef remain distinct. The following are serving suggestions, not ingredients included in the pack.
Taste one assembled bite before finishing the tray. You may not need added salt. Bread, crackers, cheese and dressings introduce their own allergens, so the beef's ingredient list does not describe the finished canapé.
Prepare the bases and garnishes separately, then assemble close to service. Cool cooked bases before adding chilled beef. Drain wet garnishes so crisp bread does not soften while you are arranging the tray.
For an extended gathering, assemble a small first tray and keep the rest refrigerated. Follow the pack's use-by and after-opening directions; curing does not make this a cupboard-storage product. The FSA's chilling guidance recommends keeping refrigerators at 0–5°C.
Yes. Split the pack into two 30g portions and serve with bread and a small dressed salad. For a broader board, see our guide to serving the 60g cured Wagyu pack. If you want a cooked meat course instead, use the Japanese Wagyu buying guide; those steaks need a different preparation plan.

No. The beef is sold cured and sliced for cold service. Any base that needs cooking should be prepared and cooled separately.
It can provide six 10g canapé toppings, or twelve 5g toppings. That is a small part of a menu, not a substantial course for six.
No. This cured product's listing does not support that designation. Name the product accurately as Wagyu cured beef.
