A 210g bloc of goose foie gras from Rougie, the historic house based in the Perigord, the heart of French foie gras country. The texture is velvety and buttery, the flavour gently sweet thanks to a touch of Port. Slice straight from the tin onto warm toasted brioche or country bread; no preparation required. Generous enough for a dinner party starter or a Christmas hamper alongside caviar, blinis and a chilled glass of Sauternes or Tokaji.
