Product & Origin
What makes BELAEV Caviar unique?
BELAEV offers premium, fresh, non-pasteurized (malossol) caviar produced via no-kill methods from certified aquaculture. Every tin is traceable and handled under strict quality controls for consistency, flavour and texture.
Is BELAEV Caviar pasteurized?
Our caviar is fresh, non-pasteurized (malossol) to preserve its natural texture and nuanced flavour.
Is your caviar wild?
No. Wild caviar is not available due to international regulations. BELEAEV sources exclusively from certified aquaculture, with a no-kill caviar extraction method.
Is your caviar CITES-certified and fully traceable?
Yes. BELAEV Caviar is produced from certified aquaculture and is CITES-certified. Each tin carries a unique CITES code with species and origin details, ensuring full traceability and legal compliance for international trade. Documentation is available upon request.
Which types of caviar do you offer?
Our core range includes Baeri, Oscietra, Imperial Gold, and Beluga. Each has a distinct profile—from Baeri’s smooth, delicate notes to Oscietra’s buttery, nutty depth, Imperial Gold’s rich creaminess, and Beluga’s large, velvety pearls.
Choosing & Enjoyment
Which caviar should I choose for a first tasting?
Start with Baeri caviar—refined, balanced, and approachable. Next, explore Oscietra (buttery, nutty), Imperial Gold (rich, creamy, golden hue), and Beluga (luxurious, large pearls and subtle sweetness).
How should caviar be enjoyed?
Less is more. First, taste it on its own to appreciate texture and aroma. Then try lightly buttered toast, blinis, or a touch of crème fraîche—simple pairings that let the caviar shine.
What should you drink with caviar?
Chilled vodka is timeless—especially with Oscietra or Imperial Gold. For Baeri or Beluga, choose a lightly dosed Champagne (Brut/Extra-Brut, not Brut Nature) or an elegant dry white (e.g., Chablis, Blanc de Blancs, Sancerre). Avoid very austere, razor-sharp wines that can overpower caviar.
Serving & Accessories
How should caviar be served?
Serve well-chilled, ideally over ice, to preserve purity of flavour and texture. Avoid strong garnishes; keep it simple.
Which spoon should I use for caviar?
Never use silver. Choose a mother-of-pearl spoon, horn, hardwood, stainless steel, or neutral materials.
How should caviar be enjoyed at home (quick guide)?
Chilled tin, clean non-metal utensil, small portions, minimal garnish, enjoy promptly.
How can I open my tin of caviar?
Use the caviar key. Insert it gently into the groove between lid and tin, twist lightly until you hear a soft pop, then lift the lid and serve.
Quantities & Planning
How much caviar do I need per person?
- Starter / canapés: 30–50 g per person (on blinis/toast)
- Main indulgence / no other course: up to 125 g per person
How much caviar for canapés?
Plan ~5 g per canapé. A 125 g tin yields ~25 canapés.

Storage, Shelf Life & Handling
What is the best way to store caviar?
Keep sealed tins in the coldest part of your refrigerator (0–2°C / 32–35°F)—never in the door. Do not freeze caviar.
How long does caviar last unopened?
Check the best-before date on the tin (typically 3–4 months refrigerated for sealed tins). Always keep the temperature stable.
How long does caviar last once opened?
After opening, consume within 24–48 hours. Exposure to air briefly opens aromas, but the roe will then start to dry. Reseal tightly and refrigerate immediately between servings.
Health & Safety
What are the health benefits of caviar?
Caviar is a nutrient-dense delicacy. It’s naturally rich in Omega-3 (EPA/DHA), high-quality protein, and key vitamins and minerals including Vitamin B12 (nervous system & energy), Vitamin D (immune function & bones), Vitamin A & E (antioxidant support), selenium, iodine, choline, and iron. Enjoyed in moderation, these nutrients can support heart, brain, skin, and overall wellness.
Note: caviar is non-pasteurized and naturally salty, so moderation is advised; if you have dietary restrictions or are pregnant, please consult your healthcare provider.
Can I eat caviar if I’m pregnant?
As our caviar is fresh and non-pasteurized, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before consumption.
Does caviar contain allergens?
Caviar is a fish product and may be unsuitable for individuals with fish/seafood allergies.
