Açaí Purée Smoothie Bowl
Use Purée Acai, Frozen, Petruz (1kg) to make this recipe. Açaí purée makes the deepest-flavoured smoothie bowls when blended with frozen fruit and very little liquid. Start the blender slowly and add extra liquid by the tablespoon so the finished bowl stays thick enough for toppings.

- Chilling or freezing: None
Ingredients
- 200g açaí purée, partially thawed
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- 120g frozen mixed berries
- 60ml apple juice or oat drink, plus more if needed
- 2 tbsp granola
- 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- Fresh banana slices, optional
Method
- Break the partially thawed açaí into pieces that your blender can handle.
- Add açaí, frozen banana, berries and 60ml liquid to the blender.
- Blend on low, stopping to scrape down the sides. Add extra liquid one tablespoon at a time only if the blades cannot turn.
- Divide between two cold bowls and add granola, seeds and banana. Serve immediately.
Why this recipe works
Frozen banana adds sweetness and body, while minimal liquid creates a spoonable rather than drinkable texture. Keeping the açaí cold preserves the thick consistency.
Practical tips and variations
- Check whether the purée is sweetened before adding any sweetener.
- Use a tamper if your blender includes one, following its instructions.
- Prepare toppings before blending because the bowl softens quickly.
Serving and storage
Serve immediately. A blended bowl becomes thinner as it warms and is not suitable for refreezing.
