Escargots de Bourgogne, the classic French starter, ready to bake. Each snail sits in its own shell with a generous filling of butter, garlic, parsley and a touch of wild garlic and pepper. The shells go straight from the freezer onto a hot oven tray. After 12 to 15 minutes the butter is bubbling, the garlic is fragrant and the snails are tender. Serve straight from the oven with crusty baguette to soak up the herb butter. 24 pieces per pack, frozen. Escargots de Bourgogne are the classic French preparation of land snails cooked in a Chablis-spiced broth, then returned to the shell and topped with garlic-parsley butter.

Ingredients: snails, broth (water, salt, Chablis wine 3.1%, spices and aromatic herbs), butter (milk) 38.3%, parsley, garlic, salt, wild garlic, pepper, pink berries, citrus.
How to cook:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Arrange the frozen shells, opening up, on an oven tray or escargot dish.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes from frozen, until the butter is bubbling and golden.
- Serve straight away with crusty baguette and a crisp white Burgundy or Chablis.
