Buy Japanese A5 Wagyu Online UK: Choose Your Cut

Buy Japanese A5 Wagyu in the UK by choosing the cut for the meal you want to cook. Beleaev's current range includes ribeye, sirloin, fillet and thin-sliced chuck roll, with product pages stating Kagoshima, Japan, as their origin. Start with a 200g steak for a small tasting, or sliced chuck roll for hot pot.

Which cut belongs on your table?

Choose For this meal What to expect
Japanese A5 Wagyu Ribeye, 200g A pan-seared tasting or a rich steak course Marbled beef with a buttery finish and a recognisable ribeye bite.
Japanese A5 Wagyu Sirloin, 200g Neat steak slices for a plated dinner A tender cut with enough structure for clean carving.
Japanese A5 Wagyu Fillet, 200g A dinner where tenderness comes first The tenderloin cut, called fillet in British butchery.
Japanese A5 Wagyu Sliced Chuck Roll, 100g Sukiyaki, shabu-shabu or a quick pan meal Already sliced; not a whole chuck roast or a thick steak.

How much should you buy for a first tasting?

One 200g raw steak divides into two 100g raw allocations for a tasting course, before cooking loss. Serve it with rice, mushrooms and something sharp such as pickles or lemon. It is a small course within a meal, not a promise that 100g of cooked meat will arrive on each plate.

For a larger main, plan the appetite and side dishes before choosing a bigger pack. Buying more marbling is not the same as buying more useful portions. A compact cut can be easier to cook in a domestic pan and leaves less raw meat to store.

What does A5 actually tell you?

A5 combines yield grade A with meat-quality grade 5. It is not a cut, a breed, or a Kobe certificate. BMS describes marbling within the Japanese grading system, but an exact BMS must be stated for the individual product rather than assumed from an A5 title. Our A5 and BMS guide explains the distinction.

Compare like with like: the same cut, selected weight and storage state. A whole joint and a ready-portioned steak solve different kitchen problems. The current fresh Japanese A5 Wagyu whole sirloin, approximately 3kg is a large-format choice for portioning or a properly planned sharing meal, not a substitute for a 200g steak method.

Fresh or frozen: which fits your plans?

The current ribeye listing specifies frozen storage. The whole sirloin is explicitly sold fresh. Do not extend either statement to every cut: check the selected product's care information, and contact us if the storage state is not clear before you order.

For frozen beef, leave enough time to defrost in the fridge. Keep raw meat covered below ready-to-eat food and follow the use-by and handling instructions. A last-minute dinner and a frozen whole joint are a poor match, even when the delivery itself arrives on time.

Make the first cook straightforward

Prepare the sides before the Wagyu reaches the pan. For an intact steak, dry the surface and colour every outside face in a well-heated pan. Adjust the heat for thickness and rendering fat. Sliced chuck roll needs small batches, not the same treatment as a whole steak.

The Food Standards Agency's cooking guidance distinguishes intact beef from minced, rolled and other altered meat. An A5 label does not make raw meat safe. Serve promptly and keep raw and cooked utensils separate.

Why order through the exact product page?

It keeps the purchase clear: named cut, selected weight, current price and the offered delivery option. The fillet is not relabelled as ribeye, and sliced chuck is not promoted as a Kobe product. A meaningful choice starts with those differences.

Questions before your first order

Is fillet the same cut as tenderloin?

Yes. In this range, fillet is the British name for the tenderloin cut. Choose it for tenderness; compare the actual selected weight rather than assuming that every fillet listing represents the same pack.

Can a 200g steak be shared?

Yes, as a tasting course with sides. Dividing a 200g raw pack between two gives 100g raw allocation each. Cooking changes the final weight, so plan it as part of a meal rather than a full steakhouse main.

Does Beleaev offer London Wagyu delivery?

Wagyu follows the UK gourmet delivery route. Check the available option for your London postcode. Online ordering is available around the clock; that does not mean round-the-clock dispatch or a same-day meat service.

Ordering for the UK and London

You can order online at any time. Our gourmet delivery policy gives 1–3 business days for orders placed Monday morning to Thursday morning, depending on the category. Orders placed Thursday afternoon to Sunday are dispatched the following Monday. Check the options for your postcode and read the current delivery policy before planning a time-sensitive meal. The faster London service described for caviar is not a promise for Wagyu.
